All-HCLC Member Roundtable: Antiquities Act and Monuments Campaigns (HCLC Only)

HECHO is hosting our next Quarterly HCLC All-Member Roundtable on Thursday, June 29th from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Currently, HECHO has active HCLC members in New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado, and Arizona and these quarterly events will allow us to connect on a regional level. Many of the issues that we face in our respective states are affecting the entire Southwest and this space will be for us to start connecting the dots and finding ways to support one another.

For this meeting, members of the HECHO team will be presenting on the basics of the Antiquities act - what it is, how it is used, and how it can be a beneficial tool for our communities. We will also present the Grand Canyon and the Río Grande del Norte as case studies to show members how this land designation plays out in the field. We will also facilitate a conversation with you all to better understand your impressions of monuments and any significant areas that need protecting. This will be part one out of two - In part two, we will dive deeper into monuments, talking more about Tribal/Indigenous involvement in monument campaigns. This will take place in July, registration TBA.

If you are an HCLC member, you received a registration link in your email associated with your membership. If you did not receive this, please email modesta@hechoonline.org
